Slow Down Ped Xing Ahead

The toddlers were already asleep when we drove home from my best friend’s house so I was able to watch the road and look at the sights. There wasn’t really much to see save for the old buildings and stores that line the road. What I noticed though was the “Slow Down Ped-Xing Ahead” traffic sign that seemed to pop every few meters.

I think I’ve already looked this up several years ago but have forgotten about it since I became a momslave to my little highnesses. Oh, and add to that the supposed effects epidural anaesthesia has on one’s memory. I’ve had three in a span of two years so I have a good enough excuse for my failing mental health.

So I looked it up again and found that the “PED XING” road sign indicates that you are approaching a pedestrian crossing. Now, I get it. PEDestrian cross(X)ing! Since I’m a visual person, I had this mental picture etched in my brain lest I forget what it means again in a couple of years. (By then, I’d have old age as an additional excuse for poor memory). It’s a good job I figured this out really or I could have been involved in a horrendous accident later down the line. I know a great lawyer in phoenix who specialises in cases like those but they are of course to be avoided at all costs. It doesn’t bear thinking about.
