Book Review: An Alphabet Trip To The Limerick Zoo

26 limericks featuring 26 animals for each of the 26 letters of the English Alphabet fascinated my two toddlers Thursday morning as we read An Alphabet Trip To The Limerick Zoo together.  Among the 26 animals were several we’ve never previously heard of.  Do you know what a Quagga is? How about a Vicuna or a Xenop?  Along with other commonly known animals, such as a cat, a zebra, and a frog, these animals are featured in humorous limericks that will surely delight the young and old alike.

I’m very particular about my little ones getting used to tangible books so I opted to print out the eBook.  My two little children are still quite young to fully appreciate the wit and humor in the limericks but they were delighted with the rhyme and rhythm. Of course, this mom read it to them with great grandiose which held their attention through all twenty-six limericks. The eBook also comes with a Companion Coloring Book which my little ones happily filled with color after reading the book.

An Alphabet Trip to the Limerick Zoo is just one of the many books written by Jeanette Ramirez.   This eBook is particularly great for those who would like to encourage their kids to appreciate and love poetry.  This is also a great resource for home schoolers who are learning how to create their own limericks.   Color Kindles, Nooks, and iPad tablet versions will be available soon so you and your kids can view An Alphabet Trip to the Limerick Zoo on which ever gadget you have.  You may also preview the product through this video.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
