Stocking Up Your Kid’s Closet with Coupon Finds

Kids grow up so fast and you have to re-stock their closets more frequently during their growing up years. As they tend to outgrow their clothes before they get worn out, it is a wise move to shop for your child’s stuff using Firstcry coupons. It is not practical to buy expensive stuff that your child will not use for more than a year at most. They go through clothes and toys too fast. It does not make sense to spend all that money only to spend more to buy new stuff in just a few months because what you previously bought do not fit them anymore.

I’m a very practical shopper. Whether shopping online or offline, I pay close attention to the things I buy for my kids. My purchases have to be of at least satisfactory quality and the prices should be reasonable. Of course, I watch for in-store bargains and online coupon deals that give loads of discounts. It’s great to see that you’ve saved up some money after you tally all your purchases.

Clothes are the most common items I shop for. It always seems like you have to buy clothes for your kids from the time they get born up until they stop growing; which is actually not until they are in their late teens. Kids grow fastest during their first few years and right about puberty when they experience their growth spurt. Don’t buy a lot of clothes. Have the basic pieces. It’s often best to go for clothes that you can mix and match. Make sure you have enough shirts and bottoms for when you take your children out to the playground or to the mall. Have a set or two of clothes that can be worn for special occasions. The same goes for shoes: have one pair of sneakers, one pair of dress shoes, and one pair of slippers or sandals.

You might also have the need for some toys and equipment for your kids. During their younger years, you would need strollers, prams, booster seats, and other baby furniture. You might also need sterilizers, baby bottles, diapers, and other baby accessories. The toys that you need to buy for your children could range from simple crib mobiles, teethers, and rattles to more expensive devices like electronic toys and gaming consoles. Keep your purchase age appropriate. Buying toys and equipment that your child cannot use just yet might be a waste of money. You can use that money for some of your child’s other present needs.

  1. I couldn’t agree more, we bought so many clothes when our son was little. It was like almost every other 4 – 6 weeks it seemed like. He’s our only son and 10 now, we are still buying pretty regularly he’s the height and weight of a 15 year old. He takes after my 6′ 4″ Dad! Ohh I love your blog layout looks Great!! 🙂

  2. Right now, I am enjoying the end-of season sales. Coupons are good too.

  6. I wish our country supported usage of coupons too! Well, we do, but only little. I bet it would save so much for those moms who want to cut the expenses a little, and even those who aren’t moms yet 🙁

  7. Awesome! Just in time for the holidays…I’ll check the link later….thanks for sharing!

  8. I use coupons whenever there are available. Sales are great too. So far Children’s Place got some great sales and free shipping sometimes. I always shop there.

  9. Coupons are always good to have. I need to go check out the thrift stores around this area and get some clothes for the kids. We are far away from the malls that I tend to shop online and avail sales or go to thrift stores.
