A Holiday Gift for the Entire Family from Summit Ridge Tagaytay

Weekend getaway on a Monday? Holiday feasts in November? Oh yes, anything is possible!!!

A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to a pre-holiday visit at Summit Ridge Tagaytay. In store for us was a preview of their holiday offerings including a sampling of their enhanced buffets.  We’ve been to Summit Ridge twice last year and have truly enjoyed both stays that I didn’t have second thoughts accepting their recent invitation.

Monday morning weather was perfect and the drive to the highlands was sans traffic (well, except for that one we encountered in the Ortigas area).  Arriving at Summit Ridge was like coming back home.  The place was still all too familiar. So familiar that we instantly noticed the changes here and there which we found out were due to rehabilitation after the hotel was badly battered by Typhoon Glenda.

In spite of Glenda, Summit Ridge has managed to continue operations and is now all set to accommodate holiday vacationers. Tall Christmas trees, a lovely Christmas Village, and a host of ornaments greet guests at the lobby.  Even the garden is adorned with lovely poinsettias.  And, yes, they did deck the halls with boughs of holly. 😉

During our pre-holiday visit we were able to sample the enhanced buffets for the holiday season and tryout the different activities Summit Ridge has in store for those joining the festivities.

Delightful Enhanced Holiday Buffet

The holidays is the perfect excuse to gain those pounds that you eventually resolve to lose at the start of the new year.  If you don’t stuff yourself this season, whatever else will you write on your New Year’s resolution?!

Summit Ridge’s holiday buffets make it even much more easier to put on those extra pounds.  Their freshly-baked gourmet breads alone would have you eating an entire basketful. The buffets are sumptuous spreads of Asian and Continental cuisine.  All of the dishes we sampled were good but the Crab Stuffed Fish Fillet and Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs I could eat forever.  Dessert choices was just a handful but they were so rich you wouldn’t want anything else anyway. You must definitely try the Pastillas Panna Cotta and the decadent mini Black Forest Cakes!

Aside from the holiday buffet, guests can also enjoy unlimited coffee and cakes from C2 Classic Cuisine.   Summit Ridge gives you more reasons to celebrate Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with them through fun holiday-themed activities for the entire family.

Enjoy Holiday-Themed Activities

Arts & Crafts Corner, Candy Corner, Meet and Greet Santa, Movie Screening, and Cookie Decorating Sessions – these would surely keep kids entertained while waiting for midnight celebrations.  We got to try decorating cookies and cupcakes under the tutelage of Chef Christine Paredes. I’m not sure how many sessions it would take for me to learn how to decorate like a pro but one thing I know for sure is that kids would have a blast decorating their own cupcakes and cookies!

For those who’d rather mingle with other guests, there’s pre-dinner or post-dinner cocktails.  Make new friends over cocktail drinks, beer, wine, and a cocktail food and cakes.

Grant a Wish this Season

Whether you decide to book this season or not, swing by Summit Ridge Tagaytay and spare a few minutes to grant a child’s wish.  Upon entering the hotel lobby, you’d see pictures of children on a Wishing Wall.  You can be a blessing to these children from Caritas Cavite by availing of Christmas trinkets at the front desk.  Each trinket cost only 199 pesos and all proceeds will be donated to Caritas Cavite.
