What We Love About Crimson Resort & Spa

• It’s perfect for families with young children. The infinity pool seem to have been built just for kids. There are also varied activities to keep young children entertained.  If you have a baby or a toddler, you can leave him with his nanny at Crimzone and be assured that he’ll be safe.
• The place was quiet and very relaxing. There were no rowdy beachgoers.  This is definitely a great place to de-stress and unwind.  If you’re looking for a beach party, better stay someplace else.
• The staff were all pleasant. Shout out to Haydee of Saffron, Steph of Azure, and Carl who attended to our needs and provided excellent services.
• Room service was prompt. We requested for additional bath mats which were given within minutes.  A bellboy arrived quickly as well when we asked for assistance before checkout.

A Few Red Marks for Crimson

On a scale of 1 to 10, we give Crimson about an 8.  Here are among the reasons why they don’t get a perfect rating from us:

• There were mosquitoes outside. Yes, mosquitoes abound in tropical areas but they could be warded off.  Certain plants like catnip, horsemint, citronella, and marigolds which are known to repel those pesky insects could be integrated into their current landscape.
• I wish they told us about their full board packages upon booking. Perhaps, they do not offer this to overnight bookings.  Better ask about it when you book.
• Food choices were limited and quite expensive. The resort is a bit isolated so you really have no choice but to eat in one of their restaurants. The ones we tried were fairly good. We just wish though that they could make their prices more reasonable.   We’ve had better buffets for less than the 1800++ they price theirs.

Tips for Travelers

In spite of those few areas that could use some improvement, we loved our stay in Crimson Resort.  To those who will be visiting the resort, here are a few tips and ideas to make your stay more pleasant:

• An overnight stay is not enough. Book at least two nights to fully enjoy all that the resort has to offer. I’d stay a week if I could afford it.
• Bring mosquito patches or bands especially for kids if you plan on lounging outside after sunset.
• Ask for the full board package where buffet lunch and dinner at Saffron Cafe would cost only Php2,100++.  This is great savings considering that a lunch buffet already costs Php1,800++.
• Upon arrival, ask for the day’s schedule of activities. They have fitness exercises, games, shows, and beach activities scheduled throughout the day both for kids and adults.

How Much It Cost

All expenses excluding gratuities added up to Php 13,771.32 – that’s a third of our total expenses during our entire Cebu-Bohol Adventure.  Here’s the breakdown of our expenses:

• Php 7,058.00 – Deluxe Garden Room Accommodations (purchased under the Cool Fun Under the Hot Sun Promo at Php 6,750++)
• Php 1,280.00 – Transfers ( Php580 airport to Crimson + Php700 Crimson to Summit Circle)
• Php 5,433.32 – Food ( Php1,589.04 Lunch at Azure + Php 2,786.03 Dinner at Saffron + Php1,058.25 Room Service Breakfast)

This would have to be one of the most expensive overnight stays our family of four has had.  It hurt our pockets but the kids had fun and that’s what truly matters.
