I Make Money Blogging and I Get To Do It While Taking Care of My Toddlers At Home

In our family, my eldest sister is the one who has a gift for words. Even when we were young, her interest in the written language was already manifested by her choice of co-curricular activities. I really can’t remember when she was not part of our school publication. When she was an exchange student in Colorado for a year, she would send us clippings of her articles that made it in print. Naturally, she took up journalism in college and pursued her dream to be a writer by profession.

I, on the other hand, lacked this inherent ability to creatively put my thoughts into words. I was the math geek in the family, the one who’d rather answer Cross Sums and Logic puzzles than Crosswords in our Mom’s Dell magazines.

No wonder it was a great surprise to them when I started a blog of my own.

I woke up on a Monday morning, contacted a company similar to freshloan who talked me through the process of taking out a loan to help get me started. With this, I was able to purchase everything needed to get my blog up and running. I knew making this investment was a brilliant idea, and one day I would be able to pay every penny back easily. I then met a couple of wonderful ladies when I volunteered for a charity event. They eventually became friends who I chatted with online once in a while. They happened to have blogs of their own which I, out of curiosity, viewed. This piqued my interest in the blogosphere and soon enough I found myself with my very own blog. Admittedly, one of the reasons that impelled me to blog was learning that some bloggers do get paid to blog.

Of course, I didn’t get to earn anything the first few months after starting my blog. During this time, I worked on honing my writing skills and learning more about the technicalities of blogging. I have been very fortunate to have become a part of the Pinay Mommies Community. This amazing group of women bloggers willingly shares their “know-how” to other bloggers who wish to learn more. Without their help and support, I wouldn’t be the blogger I am today.

Since then, my blog has undergone some major changes. I have learned so much about the importance of custom web design and other digital marketing strategies such as SEO that can help your website to stand out. Above all, if you want to encourage people to read your blog, your website needs to look enticing and unique.

I also use social media to connect with my followers throughout the day, so that I am not neglecting my blog when I am having a non-writing day. I like using Facebook mostly and I do know some other bloggers in the community who used various things to get their content to more followers such as using apps to get Facebook likes until they reach a larger organic growth. I also love to use Instagram to share some personal things about myself such as my family life as well as my blog content, which I feel allows me to create a stronger relationship with my followers.

Nine months after starting my blog, I am now able to help build our family’s nest egg while attempting to homeschool our toddlers. Yes, I do make money blogging! I know of bloggers who are able to provide for all their families’ needs with their earnings from sponsored posts, banner ads, and other forms of advertisements on their blogs. So if you are thinking about blogging online, then go for it. Just write about what you love and I’m sure you’ll start earning in no time. Don’t forget to stay safe whilst you are online though, it might be worthwhile checking out these software reviews to double-check that you have a good anti-virus software installed on your computer. You don’t want to wake up one morning and find out that your computer no longer works properly. Otherwise, you won’t be able to blog. My earnings are still a far cry from what they are earning; nevertheless, I am still proud to be able to contribute to our family’s income. Moreover, I get to do this right in the comfort of our own home. I get to spend precious time with my toddlers and take care of their needs while working at the same time.
