You Have Won an Electrolux Laundry Set!

Thank you to all those who sent their entries for the Electrolux Wash Loads of Love Giveaway!  I enjoyed reading all your “laundry stories”.  I really do wish I had a magic wand and give all of you an Electrolux Time Manager with a mere bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.

After narrowing the entries down to the best ten, I asked my hubby to make the final choice.  The answer he loved the most was this:

A blessed day to all! Thanks for I happened to knew about your informative FB page from a friend. I am a 36 year old plain housewife, a mother of two and currently suffering from a burden of washing clothes manually, that’s why I exactly knew how hard it is to wash tons of dirty laundry from morning till its almost night time (By the way, I do the washing once or twice a week) because I can’t focus on it continually for I’ve got so many things to take care of being the sole individual who will look after the house works. Its really a pain in the neck doing all our laundry every now and then. Currently, i’m on the process of saving for a new washing machine and I’m just glad that I came across your blog and read about Electrolux Time Manager.

Oh my! Electrolux Time Manager is really heaven sent! One machine whom I could consider like a house helper already, minus the maintenance of having one. I love all of its innovations thus making them all my instant favorite. I was amazed by its features it makes the product close to perfection if not “perfect” so to speak. Load Sensor would help me minimize time of washing our laundry, energy and water , Vapour action would make our clothes germ and allergen free, what a way to keep my family safe from germs and impurities, Refresh cycle would save me time from another hated household chore of mine which is ironing clothes because it lessens clothes’ wrinkles, IQ touch would help me program the machine easily, how about that? Leaf Lifter and Lily Drum would contribute to a much cleaner wash, last but certeinly not the least, Time Manager that would allow me to have more time for anything I wish to accomplish for a certein period of time.

With those amazing features of Electrolux Time Manager, I wanted to say goodbye to hand washing much eagerly, because I knew that with this product around, I will be happy and free to spend my time to my family, help my kids with their home works and school projects, cook for my husband, beautify myself, clean our home or simply watch TV which I missed a lot when I’m hand washing our clothes… :)

Congratulations, Mommy Marites Pamela Rose R. Basco! You’re the winner of the Electrolux Laundry Set! Kindly wait for email for the instructions on how to claim your prize.

Free Education Print Apps on HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Printers

Academic enrichment programs have become so popular nowadays with parents willing to shell a couple of thousands a month per subject per child just to ensure that their children have that edge in school.  Many of these programs enhance children’s math or reading skills by providing them a series of worksheets that need to be answered every day.  Although there are a host of free printables available on the net, most parents don’t have time to search for them and to print them on a daily basis.

Understanding how difficult it is to juggle work and family life, HP just made it easier for us parents to be directly involved with our children’s academic journey. Through HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Printers, we can now print high-quality content from free education apps such as the SAP Education Print App and the onSponge Learning Print App.

Premium Education Content for Young Learners

HP has collaborated with Singapore Asia Publishers(SAP) and onSponge to allow users direct access to assessment and test content.  This free service allows us parents to print educational materials that encourage good study habits through daily practice.  The SAP Education Print App offers English, Math, and Science content which can be scheduled for print out on a daily or weekly basis.

The onSponge Learning Print App provides a series of problem sums for primary students.  These practice sums help develop a child’s reasoning abilities and hone his problem-solving skills.  Even parents who dread Math would find this app very useful as step-by-step solutions to the problems are also available at the onSponge website.

Aside from being easily accessible, these education print apps provide us parents the convenience of just needing an hour or two during the weekend to schedule the printing of daily practice exercises for the coming week.  At the specified time and date, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage printer prints out the materials for the day.   And even if you have forgotten to schedule the material for today, you can still have it printed remotely.  Oh yes, you can print materials in your home printer even when you are working in your office miles away!

Endless Possibilities through HP Ink Advantage

HP web-connected printers have access to a wide range of mobile printing solutions.  HP ePrint, HP wireless direct, and HP Printer Control are just some of HP’s mobile solutions that allow users to print from virtually anywhere, anytime, and from various mobile devices.

The HP ePrint Center provides calendar templates and other forms to help professionals stay organized.  There are recipes,  checklists, photo albums, coloring pages, and game pages to help a homemakers job much easier.  Family, business, marketing, home, travel – name it and there’d most likely be a downloadable printable for it at the HP ePrint Center.  The best thing is that most of these are free of charge.

Practical and Economical

Unlike a decade ago when printer inks cost exorbitantly high, Original HP Inks are now much more affordable.  The prices are so reasonable that there really is no reason to use alternatives.  Besides, with an Original HP ink, you get to have high-quality prints without worrying about printer damage, messy leaks, and clogged cartridges.  If you compare the money you’ll shell out for an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Printer, ink cartridges, and internet connection, it will still be much lower than what you’d be paying for in an academic enrichment program.  Moreover, there’s so much more you can print using other useful apps available through HP mobile solutions.

You have served me many long years but it’s time to make way for the new… Goodbye my HP910.

Seize the Day with HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Printers

HP has always been my brand of choice when it came to printers. Plus, finding something like a hp 702 compatible cartridge is so easy. Such a loyal fan of HP products, that I don’t think I could switch to using anything else anytime soon.

My current printer is an HP Deskjet 910 that I’ve been using for more than five years now. There’s really no question about durability as this printer has churned out hundreds of thousands of worksheets for the students I tutor and for my two little kindergarten kids. Naturally, I accepted the invitation from Ferds Bondoy of Fleishman Hillard to join other bloggers in a media event at the Paradizoo Theme Park last Saturday, July 27.

Basic Photography Workshop by Christian Halili

After mid-morning snacks upon arrival at Paradizoo, we trooped to the pavilion near the fish pond where we learned the basics of photography from Christian Halili, an esteemed commercial photographer and cinematographer. Christian has been in the industry for more than a decade now and has greatly improved his craft through the years and has received numerous awards for his outstanding work.

Christian shared with us basic elements of photography that would be useful in taking pictures of our family or of event we attend. Unfortunately, I only had half my mind on the workshop as half was on my frisky little boy (uhm, more like ¼ and ¾ ) so I was only able to remember just a few tips. Among them are:

Find Perfect Lighting. If you want to create a photo that would have a great impression, you must pay particular attention to proper lighting. When shooting outdoors, avoid doing so during noontime when the light is too bright. The best time to shoot outdoors is early in the morning or late in the afternoon. I don’t remember much about this, but this was scribbled in my notes: ISO 100 for daytime, 400 for night time.

Go Manual. Since we all use digital cameras nowadays and can shoot hundreds of photos without running out of film, Christian suggests that you shoot manually instead of opting for the auto function. Experiment with the different settings in your camera until you are familiar with them. Then you can confidently shoot crisp pictures anytime. Besides, you can always delete photos that don’t come out right.

Rule of Thirds. When taking photographs, many of us tend to place the subject right in the middle of the frame. Seasoned photographers follow the rule of thirds. What you do is divide the frame into three columns and three rows. When taking a photograph, position your subject right in the middle of the first two columns or the first two rows. This makes a nice photograph especially when you’re taking pictures of landscapes.

Seizing the Day with My Little Jakei

Armed with new knowledge about photography, we were given the challenge of taking postcard perfect pictures around Paradizoo. I admit that I have no eye for photography which is why I never bothered getting myself a DLSR. My point-and-shoot camera was also always on auto mode. Regardless of my poor photography skills, I happily clicked away and took photos of my little Jakei who was having the time of his life running to and fro and checking out the animals. Though the picture that I submitted as an entry to the contest lacked composition and clarity, the printout from the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage printer still came out crisp. Considering that the photo was printed on plain paper, the print quality was exceptional.

Homeward Bound

The day proved to be a long tiring one – well, any day is tiring when you have to run after little Jakei the entire time – but I was still glad that I seized the day and had a great time with my fave little boy. The little boy spent most of the trip home in dreamland while I pondered about setting aside part of our budget for a new printer. The educational apps are such great features that make the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage a worthy investment.
