Dressing Up Our Mini-Me’s

Seeing members of a family all garbed in matching outfits is a fairly common sight. There is just something about the uniformity that proudly avers how united the entire brood is, each one seemingly shouting “I am proud to be a part of this family!”

With four girls in the family, my sisters naturally grew up wearing the same outfits and having the same kinds of toys. Until now, we have this proclivity for matching clothes and accessories. Even our husbands have become willing accomplices to our penchant for uniformity and would gladly wear a shirt that matches the rest of the brood.

As much as we want to have perfectly matching shirts for my husband and our son, it is impossible to find my husband’s size in the boys’ wear section. We just make do with shirts in similar colors or prints for them. On the other hand, it is quite easy to find matching clothes for me and my 3-yr-old daughter. One of the advantages of being petite is that I still fit in clothes in the girls’ wear section.

Moms would be glad to know that there are plenty of boutiques that now carry Mom-Daughter clothes that have sizes for infants and for moms. Some of our personal favorites are Peppermint, Gingersnaps, Big & Small, Purple Candy, and Mom n’ Me. Complete your outfit with matching shoes from Sugarkids, Sole Divas and The Little Red Shoe.

Dressing up is fun and being able to do it with your family makes it a hundredfold more enjoyable!
