Have You Taken Chowking’s #BuksanParaMalaman Challenge

Just a few more days until select Chowking branches offer FREE in-store sampling of Chowking Chunky Asado sioplets! They may be mini siopaos but they sure are filled with big chunky and asadong-asado filling.  Mark your calendars and check if your fave Chowking stores have these sioplets on November 28.

Chowking Novaliches and Chowking Glorietta already surprised their customers a few weeks back. Thousands of excited customers lined up at sampling booths for Chowking’s #BuksanParaMalaman challenge, to try out the Chowking Chunky Asado Siopao. They tasted the hot and soft siopao and discovered just how chunky at asadong-asado it truly is.

Aside from this delicious surprise, a trick art station was set up and customers were able to have their creative and interactive photos taken with the giant Chunky Asado Siopao photo wall.

Customers were delighted and satisfied with their Chowking Chunky Asado Siopao experience. A customer who sampled the siopao noted how it was, “siksik ang laman, malasa, at masarap.” Another one who lined up at one of the sampling stations said “talagang solved ka, kasi hindi tipid sa laman at malambot pa ‘yung bun,” while someone shared “lasang asado talaga, masarap at malaman kasi Chowking.”

Here’s one who doesn’t need convincing!  My Jakei can eat Chowking Chunky Asado siopao everyday and be completely happy about it.

McHappy Day Stripes Run 2015: Ready, Set, Read!

Did you know that our much-loved McDonald’s is a very passionate advocate of child literacy in the country? The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines has touched over 11 million children through their flagship program, ‘Ronald McDonald Read to Learn’.

The famous red stripes has come up with this year’s big event to raise funds for the literacy program through the McHappy Day Stripes Run. Yep, we are all invited to run for a cause, people! A very good cause at that.

mchappy day stripes run

McHappy Day Stripes Run 2015 is open to everyone. This year’s event is even bigger than anyone has ever imagined. One will happen in BGC, Taguig City on November 28 and another round will be hosted in People’s Park, Davao City on December 5.

You don’t need to have any professional experience with marathons. Of course, some distance training might come in really handy to avoid injuries. The organizers have thought of everything. There are several distance brackets to choose from so that anyone can participate. The categories are for 1k, 3k, 5k, and 10k; regardless if you’re a kid, a teen, or an adult, there’s one that will fit you just right. You can run with your friends, your whole family, or even on your own. Remember: this is for a very, very good cause.

It’s not even a hassle to register for the event. All you have to do is fill out the form from any of the selected branches or online at www.mchappyday.com.ph. When that’s done, settle the fees based on the bracket you chose, and you can claim your race kit immediately after.

Race categories include:

  • Catch Hamburglar 1K (8 years and below) – Php 400
  • Run Grimace Run 3K Children (15 years old and below) – Php 495
  • Run Grimace Run 3K Adult (16 years old and up) – Php 495
  • McDonald’s Family Dash 3K (2 kids under 15 years and 2 adults) – Php 1500
  • Early Birdie 5K (16 years old and up) – Php 795
  • Ronald McDonald Challenge 10K (16 years old and up) – Php 995

Each kit includes a McHappy Day shirt, McDonald’s red and white striped socks, stub for a free McDonald’s breakfast meal at the venue, and a race bib. I’m really gonna treasure those socks. LOL!

But the fun won’t end there! After the race, participants can make their day even more enjoyable by visiting the activity booths at the venue. It’s all about making the most out of the day. And when you come home tired and maybe a little sore, you can go to bed with a smile, knowing that you helped a child have the opportunity to learn to read. If that’s not fulfilling enough, I don’t know what is.

For more information on the McHappy Day Stripes Run, visit mchappyday.com.ph or follow McDonald’s official Facebook page at facebook.com/mcdo.ph. Sign-up today and tell your family and friends about it! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #McDoStripesRun and tag @McDo_PH on Twitter and Instagram.

Here’s the list of registration centers. 🙂 Sign-up today as you grab some Chicken McDo or a BigMac!

ASUS: Unfold Your New Incredible Story

What does a non-techie – even almost techie-averse – mom do when she receives an invite to a tech event? Ask her favorite geek to cover the event for her, of course! 🙂 This friend is a true IT expert having worked in the field for years. She’s fully qualified, although this is largely thanks to the sql certification questions that are available to practice with! She jumped at the chance to help me out.

Last October 21, ASUS launched their newest top-of-the-line series – the Zen AiO Pro Series, 6th generation Intel ® Core™ processor Zenbooks, the ASUS Transformer Book, and ASUS ROG’s next-generation Gaming Notebooks – all powered by Microsoft Windows 10. ASUS also makes routers so make sure you visit Router-Reset.com if you want to know how to access the setup page. My husband Jasper Espino, co-anchor of Arpee Lazaro and Edsel Lorete at DWIZ’s Mag-Internet Tayo, attended the event in my stead. He had a wonderful time, of course, but I wouldn’t want to bore you with the nitty-gritties (you can check out our FB page for event pics) so here’s a quick rundown of the awesome features of the latest series from ASUS.

But first, if you’re looking for a way to game on the go, then check out this guide to the Best Gaming Laptops 2019, you’re sure to find something that meets your needs! A few ASUS products might even make an appearance.

The Heart of 51Talk

We Filipinos have always been regarded as the best English speakers in Asia.  We are also naturally pleasant, friendly, and patient. There are many different types of online English learning sites such as this one provided by AJ Hoge. However, there are many other sites which are predominately Filipinos based. Thus, it is not surprising to find that many online English teaching sites have Filipinos in their roster of teachers.  This is also why several such sites have already set base here in the Philippines.

Among those is 51Talk.  Pronounced as FIVE-ONE-TALK, 51Talk may be read as “I want TALK” in Mandarin. Since it was established in China in 2011, 51Talk is not the number 1 online English platform in China.  It also continues to be the fastest growing online English Language Teaching (ELT) platform n the Philippines since it began operations here in 2012.

At the heart of 51talk are the e-Educators and all the people who strive to make 51talk the premier online ELT platform in the country.  Knowing the importance of their teachers, 51Talk paid tribute to them during the National Teachers’ Month the #51TalkTeacherStory contest.

Enjoy the #BestoPotato Experience at Jack ‘n Jill Calbee Pop-Up Stores

A one-week school break could hardly be called a break.  I’m sure a lot of the young ones aren’t looking forward to going back to school this November.  BUT here’s something that would make them want to go back to school!

Starting this November, the Jack n’ Jill Calbee pop-up store will be making its way around the metro again.  After kicking-off in Greenhills Shopping Center this coming month, the pop-up store will visit several campuses to bring the #BestoPotato experience closer to everyone.
