Fun Snack Time with Pretzel Crisps

Crunchy. Crispy. Cheesy. Savory. Just about everything you need for a delightful snack!  And a “humongous” box of such treats was delivered to our home yesterday just before snack time.

Whoa! It’s Humongous!!! (kids’ reaction when they saw the box)

Jack ‘n Jill Pretzel Crisps puts a new spin on the all-time favorite pretzel by making it lighter and crispier.  It can get pretty confusing whether you’re eating pretzels or chips – either way, these Pretzel Crisps make snack time lotsa fun for my kids.  The little girl and I love the Cheese ‘n Garlic variant while the li’l boy (surprisingly) favors the Honey Mustard one.

It’s Pretzel Crisps Cheese ‘n Garlic for this li’l girl. Best eaten with a glass of cold milk! 😉

Pretzel Crisps aren’t just for kids though.  It’s for everyone of any age who loves fun and adventure.  It’s a really great snack to share with friends! The savory flavors and delightful crunch of Jack ‘n Jill Pretzel Crisps bring fun and excitement to life’s adventures.  What’s more, a pack costs less than 20 pesos which means there’ll always be plenty of Pretzel Crisps to share with everyone.

The Only 3 House Rules You’ll Ever Need

How many house rules do you have at home? We used to have so many I’ve lost count already. I’m pretty sure my two kids have lost count also AND most likely remember just a handful of them.

Before 2014 ended, we decided to simplify our rules and narrowed it down to just three.  These three simple rules encompass all the other rules we used to have:

Rule#1:  Be Loving

Rule#2: Be Respectful

Rule#3: Be Obedient

Do the rules work? Most of the time! I’d love to say always but kids (and us adults, too) are a work in progress, you know.  They still do sometimes fight each other and talk back. Although having only these three rules makes it much easier to remind them of how they should behave and conduct themselves.  Another plus factor of having just these rules is that the kids can’t ever complain that there are too many house rules. ;D

Make Children Smile with SM Bears of Joy

Eight days left before Christmas!  Where did the time go?!  Although some have already finished wrapping gifts and planning for Noche Buena, there are still many (like me!) who are barely done with Christmas shopping and have no menu for Christmas Eve dinner yet.  And there’s only one week left!  That’s holiday cramming at its finest!

Though we’re all in a frenzy, there’s still much to be thankful for.  We have been blessed enough to have resources to buy gifts and to enjoy the holidays with family and friends.  As we shop for our loved ones, let’s also remember those who have are less privileged.

SM Supermalls makes sharing easier for us through the SM Christmas Bears of Joy project.  Now on its fourth year, SM Bears of Joy continues to offer shoppers the opportunity to share their blessings and bring smiles to children’s faces despite their busy holiday scheds.

 photo smbears.jpg

While you’re shopping at your favorite SM Supermall, visit a Bears of Joys booth and get your own SM Bear of Joy. Each bear you buy has a “twin” which will be donated to an orphan or a less fortunate child.  With just P200.00, you get two bears – one to keep and one to share.

Before we get caught up in countless family gatherings and social events this season, let’s not forget that the true meaning of Christmas is sharing God’s love with others. Share your blessings and touch someone’s heart.  🙂 Spread the word to make more children smile this Christmas.  🙂

Thank you SM Cares for my very own Bear of Joy. 🙂

Gifts of Experience from the Zoomanity Group

One of the favorite gifts we love giving our kids is the gift of adventure.  Toys break and get thrown away but memories of wonderful experiences last forever.  Each year, we take them to see special shows or to discover new places.  Among those that we’ve had great fun together are Zoomanity theme parks. We’ve been to Zoobic Safari, Paradizoo, and the Residence Inn Zoo and have truly enjoyed our adventures in each place.

Imagine my delight when I found out that the very group which has established those parks have also been giving these gifts of adventures to the less fortunate.  Every year, the Zoomanity Group opens its doors to indigent children giving them an experience that they will never forget and handing them gifts that they can treasure.

Zoomanity Group Christmas Giving in Paradizoo and Residence Inn, Tagaytay

On December 14, the Zoomanity Group with CEO Robert Laurel Yupangco will be at Paradizoo in Mendez, Cavite and Residence Inn, Tagaytay to welcome indigent children and to give them a gift they can keep in their hearts forever.   JB Badon, the group deputy operating manager, will be heading the activity and will be ensuring that the kids enjoy their early Christmas gifts.

In Residence Inn, the activities in store for the kids include Animal Feeding, Horseback Riding, Animal Show, Zip Line, and Cable Car.  This 2-hectare facility lies right on the Tagaytay Ridge and provides a grand view of the Taal Volcano. Along with lion, tigers and crocodiles, exotic animals are on exhibit and are for interaction.

Paradizoo, located just a few kilometers from Residence Inn, is much bigger with a land area of 12 hectares.  Farm animals like horses, ducks, rabbits, and goats are penned in this theme park.  A mini zip line has also been installed to provide more adventure.

Zoomanity Group Theme Parks

Zoomanity Group is operating 5 theme parks in the Philippines, aside from Paradizoo and Residence Inn, there are Zoobic Safari in Subic, Zambales, Zoocobia in Clark, Pampanga and Zoocolate Thrills in Loboc, Bohol.  Know more about the happiest places in the country by visiting www.zoomanity.com.ph.

A Holiday Gift for the Entire Family from Summit Ridge Tagaytay

Weekend getaway on a Monday? Holiday feasts in November? Oh yes, anything is possible!!!

A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to a pre-holiday visit at Summit Ridge Tagaytay. In store for us was a preview of their holiday offerings including a sampling of their enhanced buffets.  We’ve been to Summit Ridge twice last year and have truly enjoyed both stays that I didn’t have second thoughts accepting their recent invitation.

Monday morning weather was perfect and the drive to the highlands was sans traffic (well, except for that one we encountered in the Ortigas area).  Arriving at Summit Ridge was like coming back home.  The place was still all too familiar. So familiar that we instantly noticed the changes here and there which we found out were due to rehabilitation after the hotel was badly battered by Typhoon Glenda.

In spite of Glenda, Summit Ridge has managed to continue operations and is now all set to accommodate holiday vacationers. Tall Christmas trees, a lovely Christmas Village, and a host of ornaments greet guests at the lobby.  Even the garden is adorned with lovely poinsettias.  And, yes, they did deck the halls with boughs of holly. 😉

During our pre-holiday visit we were able to sample the enhanced buffets for the holiday season and tryout the different activities Summit Ridge has in store for those joining the festivities.

Delightful Enhanced Holiday Buffet

The holidays is the perfect excuse to gain those pounds that you eventually resolve to lose at the start of the new year.  If you don’t stuff yourself this season, whatever else will you write on your New Year’s resolution?!

Summit Ridge’s holiday buffets make it even much more easier to put on those extra pounds.  Their freshly-baked gourmet breads alone would have you eating an entire basketful. The buffets are sumptuous spreads of Asian and Continental cuisine.  All of the dishes we sampled were good but the Crab Stuffed Fish Fillet and Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs I could eat forever.  Dessert choices was just a handful but they were so rich you wouldn’t want anything else anyway. You must definitely try the Pastillas Panna Cotta and the decadent mini Black Forest Cakes!

Aside from the holiday buffet, guests can also enjoy unlimited coffee and cakes from C2 Classic Cuisine.   Summit Ridge gives you more reasons to celebrate Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with them through fun holiday-themed activities for the entire family.

Enjoy Holiday-Themed Activities

Arts & Crafts Corner, Candy Corner, Meet and Greet Santa, Movie Screening, and Cookie Decorating Sessions – these would surely keep kids entertained while waiting for midnight celebrations.  We got to try decorating cookies and cupcakes under the tutelage of Chef Christine Paredes. I’m not sure how many sessions it would take for me to learn how to decorate like a pro but one thing I know for sure is that kids would have a blast decorating their own cupcakes and cookies!

For those who’d rather mingle with other guests, there’s pre-dinner or post-dinner cocktails.  Make new friends over cocktail drinks, beer, wine, and a cocktail food and cakes.

Grant a Wish this Season

Whether you decide to book this season or not, swing by Summit Ridge Tagaytay and spare a few minutes to grant a child’s wish.  Upon entering the hotel lobby, you’d see pictures of children on a Wishing Wall.  You can be a blessing to these children from Caritas Cavite by availing of Christmas trinkets at the front desk.  Each trinket cost only 199 pesos and all proceeds will be donated to Caritas Cavite.
