One Glass Of Red Wine A Day

One glass of red wine a day.  This is what the doctor advised my hubby who was starting to have problems with his cholesterol level which was in turn leading to other ailments. Here in a country where wine is not a basic commodity, prices can be quite steep one would think that it’d be more economical to try home brewing.

However, we have yet to learn how to brew our own wine so we have no other option than to purchase ones from the store.  Hubby tried several different brands at first but liked Novellino Classic Sweet Red Wine and has since patronized that brand.

More than the choice of wine though, you may be asking why hubby’s doctor recommended a glass of red wine per day.  There are two main reasons for this. One is that red wine contains high levels of saponins and resveratrol which significantly lowers cholesterol.  It also improves blood circulation and prevents clumping of platelets reducing the chances of heart attack or other cardiovascular diseases.

As with everything though, it has to be taken in moderation.  For hubby, one glass of red wine per day is his limit.  More than that would have a different effect, possibly harmful, on him.
